PvP online: open PvP, flagged PvP, RvR PvP and Life is Feudal

Player vs Player refers to the ingame competition between players, combat being most popular and closest to the term. Types of PvP online vary, all different yet interesting.

The sandbox MMORPG Life is Feudal is a realistic medieval sandbox PvP MMORPG. PvP can occur in many different forms, but generally features exclusively in MMORPG PvP games as open world PvP, flagged PvP and Realm vs Realm PvP.

Open world PvP

Open world PvP is any competition between players, mainly combat, that occurs in open 3D virtual worlds. Generally this occurs impromptu, meaning that two or more players accidentally cross paths. This is the simplest yet single most thrilling form of PvP, especially in a full loot MMORPG.

Open world PvP can also occur between factions, as mentioned in the previous paragraph. These skirmishes, rebellions or wars can occur over almost anything. Open world PvP in LiF is exceptionally thrilling; a medieval full loot sandbox MMORPG. This means if you are travelling through the virtual game, players may attack and attempt to PK you. Flagged PvP

Flagged PvP does not feature in LiF, but this normally involves players flagging themselves as ready for PvP. Flagged PvP also features in some of the best online RPG games as duels between players, or special areas where any player can attack any other player. The reason flagged PvP will not feature in Life is feudal, is because players will ALWAYS be flagged for PvP.

Realm vs Realm

Realm vs Realm or (RvR) is PvP that occurs between predetermined factions, essentially being MMO war games. This type of PvP is closest to true medieval warfare. Generally, RvR MMO PvP occurs inside instanced arenas or battlegrounds over objectives such as: resources, valuable items and land.

Classic RvR doesn’t feature in Life is Feudal. There are no predetermined factions; players are free to join or create orders, realms and kingdoms. Realms/kingdoms can declare war on other realms/kingdoms. Once war has been declared, members of opposing realms/kingdoms can kill one another on sight. This is the petty warfare stage of raiding. In summary, Life is Feudal features open world PvP and a player owned RvR system. Life is Feudal is a sandbox, so players have incredible freedom in seeking and carrying out PvP in a full loot MMORPG.
